The Decembrists Museum, the only one in the Krasnoyarsk region, opened on August 13, 1997, in the house of Alexander and Nikolai Kryukov, which is one of the oldest wooden buildings in the city, built before 1823. This house is recognized as a historical monument and has been under state protection since 1980.

The museum's exhibition, dedicated to the Decembrists in the Minusinsk district, tells about the stay of the participants of the uprising on Senate Square in this region, as well as about the December uprising itself. A fragment of the living room interior has been recreated in the museum, and part of the square is used for various exhibitions. Guided and thematic tours are conducted here, such as "In the Frosty Haze, Banners Flew," dedicated to the role of Minusinsk Decembrists in the 1825 uprising, and "Our True Everyday Life," which tells about the life and activities of the Decembrists in Siberia. Events from the "Noble Culture" cycle are also held. The museum offers a home theater, performances for children and adults, as well as the "Petersburg Citizen" club. More than 12,000 people visit it annually. In 2017, the museum celebrated its 20th anniversary.
