The Museum of the 9th Separate Red Banner Railway Brigade was opened on May 5, 2010, at the base of the Samara State University of Transport and is part of the memorial museum complex.

The museum's exhibition is dedicated to the heroic path of the 9th railway brigade in the context of the history of railway troops in Russia. The brigade's contribution to the Great Victory includes the defense of Leningrad, the construction and maintenance of the Road of Life and the Road of Victory, along which the besieged city received food supplies. Among the museum's exhibits is a vessel with soil from the Piskarev Memorial, where the warriors of the 9th brigade rest.

In peacetime, the brigade also left a significant mark: it built access roads to KAMAZ, participated in the construction of BAM, and restored roads in Chechnya. In the final stage of its activities, the brigade was engaged in the construction of facilities for the Kuibyshev Railway. During these years, the brigade's headquarters was located in the buildings of the current SamGUPS, where in 1980 a monument and eternal flame were installed in memory of the fallen warriors.

Today, these elements are also part of the memorial complex. The museum complex includes the museum of the 9th railway brigade, a mobile or open-air museum, three units of railway equipment, a stele with an eternal flame, buildings, and territory. The uniqueness of the museum, located in one of the buildings, lies in the fact that the large territory and buildings have a memorial character, as the headquarters of the 9th railway brigade has been here since the 1960s.
