The Multimedia Art Museum in Moscow, also known as the "Moscow House of Photography," was established in 1996 with the support of the Government of Moscow. It is led by Olga Sviblova. This is the first museum in Russia dedicated to photography and contemporary art.

In 2010, the museum moved to a new building at Ostozhenka, 16, after reconstruction and restoration. Today, it is one of the most modern and beautiful exhibition spaces in the city. The museum is often compared to a mini-Guggenheim due to its seven floors, spacious halls, constructivist staircase, glass elevator, and ultra-modern lighting.

The museum's collection includes over 178,000 exhibits, but there is no permanent exhibition; the displays are regularly updated. MAMM showcases the history of both foreign and domestic contemporary art, works by renowned photographers and young artists, as well as video art, VR, and other modern genres. About 60 exhibitions are held here annually.

In addition to exhibitions, the museum offers educational programs for all ages. Leading global artists conduct lectures and master classes. Programs such as MAMMcinema, MAMMusic, and MAMMdiscussion are regularly active.

MAMM is one of the most visited museums in Moscow and Russia, attracting over 70% of young people aged 17 to 35.

Every spring, the museum organizes two major international festivals: the "Moscow Photo Biennale" and the "Fashion and Style in Photography" biennale, which have made Moscow one of the world capitals of photography.

Since 1997, the museum has implemented the "History of Russia in Photographs" program. In 2016, the portal russiainphoto.ru was launched, which is visited by about 3 million people annually. For the anniversary of the Great Patriotic War, a page dedicated to the events of the war was opened on the portal at 9may.russiainphoto.ru.

The museum owns the Rodchenko School of Photography and Multimedia, which was recognized in 2018 as the best art institution in the field of artistic education in Central and Eastern Europe. Graduates and students of the school actively participate in shaping contemporary Russian art and receive prestigious awards.
