The monastery was founded in 2011 in a quiet corner of Bangarbi, located between the towns of Bombala and Cooma in the southern part of New South Wales, Australia. A 300-hectare area was acquired for its construction, which included an old house. In 2012, cells for the nuns were built, and a project for the temple dedicated to the Entrance of the Theotokos was developed.

The monastery was established by Abbess Anna (Karypova), who had previously led the Gethsemane Monastery in Jerusalem for several years. In 2011, she returned to Australia.

The monastery is home to the abbess and nine nuns. Statutory services are held in the chapel. The nuns engage in sewing church vestments for the priests of the diocese, knitting, making jam, and producing chocolate candies.
