Filatovskaya Old Believer Chapel in Zlynka

Фото 1
The Filatovskaya Old Believer chapel of the Protection of the Holy Virgin, belonging to the Fedoseevsky agreement, was built between 1900 and 1915 and is still in operation.

It is located deep within the site and was erected on the site of a previous chapel by the Old Believers of the Transfiguration (Fedoseevsky) agreement. This is an interesting example of a cult building from this branch of the non-Popovtsy. The main building, constructed from logs and rectangular in plan, is covered with a gable roof featuring pediments on the side facades. A small narthex opens onto the street through three-part gates, the shape of which reflects the influence of Ukrainian Baroque. The top of the gates forms a large pediment above the gable roof with a cut-off top and three pear-shaped domes on high octagonal necks. The double-leaf opening of the gates and two side gates have arched finishes with profiled sandriks. In the center of the pediment above them is a small kiot. The interior draws attention with icons of the Mstyora Old Believer painting from the first half of the 19th century.
