The majestic Old Believer church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Buguruslan, now located in the Orenburg region and previously in the Samara province, was built during a time when Old Believers were granted freedom of worship. In the early 1930s, the church was forcibly closed, and the Old Believer beglopopovtsy began to hold prayers in their homes.
The building of the church was used alternately as a warehouse and workshops. For a long time, the community of the Russian Old Orthodox Church in Buguruslan sought its return. In 2008, the church was returned to the believers, and restoration work began at that time.
On Easter 2008, the church held its first Easter service.
