The Russian Liberation Army (ROA), also known as Russische Befreiungsarmee, was one of the largest armed formations organized by Nazi Germany from Soviet prisoners of war who had defected and joined the Wehrmacht in 1942 and 1944. It included most Russian anti-Soviet units and formations, which primarily operated at the level of individual battalions and companies and were formed by various German military structures during World War II. From 1944, the ROA was officially considered the armed forces of the anti-Soviet political organization, the Committee for the Liberation of the Peoples of Russia, which was established in Prague in the same year.
