In 1996, the tombstone was made in the Italian workshop of Acomena Spazio Mosaico. The mosaic is made of small square elements tightly fitting together, almost without seams. The surface is left rough, with sharp changes in level, creating the impression of a carpet texture. The sculptural base accurately replicates the folds, and the mosaic elements smoothly follow the curves.
