Nikolai Andreyevich Arapov, colonel of the Cavalry Guard Regiment, was born on July 20, 1847, in the village of Andreyevka, Lower Lomov District, Penza Province. He began his service in 1864 and was discharged in 1872, having attained the rank of colonel. Arapov passed away on January 21, 1883, in Paris from pneumonia. He was buried at the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery cemetery in Penza, which, along with the monastery, was demolished after the revolution.
