The grave of Michael Lunn is located in one of the districts of Balashikha. This English steam engine specialist arrived in Russia in 1850 and led the Balashikha manufactory for many years, around which the city gradually began to form.

Lunn was born in Yorkshire and worked at a cotton spinning factory from the age of six. In Russia, he paid great attention to improving the living conditions of workers: a hospital with a maternity ward, a school, a vocational school, and a home for the needy were built, and talented children were sent to study in England. Workers were relocated from wooden barracks to new stone barracks.

Before the revolution, the last manager of the factory was his grandson. After the revolution, the Lunn family left Russia, except for one daughter.

Descendants of Michael Lunn visited Balashikha in 2001 and 2003 from England and South Africa.

Michael Lunn is buried in the cemetery of the now non-existent village of Nikolskoye-Trubetskoye.

Nearby is an area belonging to the Nikol-Trubetskoye cemetery, but I could not understand if this new cemetery is part of the old one.

There are no other burials around the grave itself, and the area is designated as the Grove of Heroes.
