Maria Yakovlevna Chambers-Bilibina, also known as Mary Elizabeth Veronica Chambers Bilibina, was born on March 1, 1874, in St. Petersburg and passed away on June 6, 1962, in Oxfordshire. She was a Russian artist of Irish-English descent and the sister of Vladimir Chambers. Maria became the first wife of the artist Ivan Bilibin, with whom she was married from 1902 to 1911, and the mother of two of his sons. She was most active in the art world during the 1900s to 1910s, participating in many exhibitions, including those organized by the "World of Art" group. Since 1917, she lived in the United Kingdom, where she continued her artistic endeavors.
