Фото 1
Konstantin Vikentievich Khruitsky was born on March 11, 1855, in the village of Korochin, which is now located in the Slonim district of the Grodno region. He passed away on February 14, 1969, in Novorossiysk. Khruitsky was the last participant in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878, took part in the defense of Shipka, and was awarded two St. George's crosses. He also participated in World War I. There is an opinion that Khruitsky may have been an adventurer who appropriated someone else's merits. He is buried in the Solnechnoye cemetery in Novorossiysk, next to the grave of the city architect of Novorossiysk and Saratov, S.A. Kalistratov.
