The Memorial Museum-Apartment of Yuri and Valentina Gagarin showcases the home of Valentina Goryacheva, who became Gagarina after marriage. Nine people lived in two rooms of this house. Here, on the second floor of a former merchant mansion, which later became a communal apartment at 35 Chicherin Street, Yuri and Valentina often met. At that time, Yuri Gagarin was studying at the Orenburg Military Aviation School named after K. E. Voroshilov. It was here in November 1957 that they got married.
The young Gagarin family initially lived in this apartment. Later, when they moved to Star City, Valentina and Yuri often visited this place with their children. The museum's exhibition features original items from the family of the first cosmonaut: napkins embroidered by Valentina, a pique bedspread, dishes, and photo documents from the family archive. Also, part of the exhibition includes items from Star City, such as space food, astronaut clothing, and souvenirs.
