A memorial plaque honoring the Russian Tsar Peter the Great has been installed on the wall of the "King’s Arm" hotel in Godalming, located at 22 High Street. He stayed here in March 1698. This commemorative sign was gifted by the Filevskaya District of Moscow.

The hotel building has undergone several renovations. The original structure dates back to the 14th century, while the current building is from the 17th century. There is a legend that Peter the Great still visits this hotel, particularly room three, where paranormal phenomena are said to occur. Staff and guests have heard boots and clothing falling in this room, although no one could explain the source of these sounds.
