On January 14, 2017, a memorial was opened in the village of Miloslavsk in honor of Vasily Ivanovich Alexeev, an outstanding native of these places, a two-time Olympic champion, and one of the most famous athletes of the last century. The memorial consists of a large stone on a wide pedestal. After the unveiling ceremony of the monument, a festive evening was held to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the late athlete's birth, as well as the traditional winter sports games "Alexeev's Fun." The events were attended by Alexeev's widow, son, granddaughter, and his acquaintances.
