Lipovchik Memorial

Фото 1
The memorial is dedicated to one of the most tragic pages in the history of the USSR, the victims of Stalin's repressions based on nationality and social status. It is located at the site of mass executions and burials.

The history of the memorial's creation is quite fascinating: in the 1960s, a group of schoolchildren stumbled upon numerous human bones, which specialists later managed to assemble into several complete skeletons. At that time, it was not given much significance, and the remains were attributed to those who died during the Great Patriotic War. They were recorded by local historians and buried. However, it later became clear that the remains belonged not to soldiers of the 1940s, but to local residents.

A witness was also found who shed light on this story. Only in the 1990s, after a change in power and the initiation of criminal cases, were lists of those killed by government orders published.
