In the 17th century, the current properties No. 12 and 14 on Kuznetsky Most were the estate of the nobleman I. M. Vederevsky. Over time, the owners changed. In the early 19th century, the plot belonged to merchant Franz Gutt, and then to his widow Elizabeth. In March 1813, the newspaper "Moscow Vedomosti" reported that "Elizaveta Gutt, having returned to Moscow and residing on Kuznetsky Most in her own house, in the western wing, continues to engage in the production of women's headdresses. Having suffered losses during the enemy's invasion, she politely asks her debtors to settle their debts as soon as possible."

In the mid-19th century, the plot was acquired by Sever Alexeyevich Yermolov, the son of the famous general A. P. Yermolov.

In the 1880s, it was purchased by first-guild fur merchant Alexey Mikhailovich Mikhailov. Starting his career as a "boy" in a shop, Mikhailov became the owner of one of the largest fur firms in Russia and founded the Siberian trading house for selling fur goods.

Soon, he built a four-story factory building for fur products in the courtyard of his property on Kuznetsky Most, designed by architect V. V. Barkov.

From 1901 to 1903, on the site of an old two-story house facing the street, the famous Moscow architect A. E. Erikhson erected a modern building. The lower floor was finished with polished dark red granite with columns of the Tuscan order made of black labradorite and bronze details. The second and third floors were decorated with stucco in the style of decorative modernism. The elegant balcony railings on the second and fourth floors particularly attract attention.

The interiors of the sales hall were designed by artist V. A. Favorovsky.

In 1906-1907, the building was raised by a fifth floor according to the project of the same architect.

Later, Erikhson also reconstructed A. M. Mikhailov's income house on Bolshaya Dmitrovka, known in Moscow as the "Egyptian" house.

A. M. Mikhailov passed away in 1916, and a year and a half later, his firm was nationalized. The fur factory on Kuznetsky Most continued to operate during the Soviet era. The Mikhailov fur cold storage on Bolshaya Dmitrovka (in the courtyard of house No. 11) is still in operation today.

In the mid-1940s, the building on Kuznetsky Most housed the famous All-Union House of Fashion Models, which created collections for many sewing factories in the USSR and fulfilled individual orders. Among the clients of the house of models were well-known politicians and artists, including L. I. Brezhnev. In the 1950s, the building underwent partial reconstruction.

In 2002, the "Kuznetsky Most" House of Models was closed. Now, a large premium clothing store is located here.

The building is protected by the state.
