On July 3, 2015, during an archpastoral visit to Balakhna, Metropolitan Georgy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas consecrated a chapel dedicated to the holy righteous princes Peter and Fevronia, the Murom miracle workers. The chapel is located on the banks of the Volga River in the NiGRES microdistrict. It was built with funds donated by benefactors and is designed according to the classical canons of church architecture. The chapel is topped with a small elegant dome, and its interior space is open to all winds, as it has no walls, only wrought-iron gates that open during services. The snow-white facades and gilded dome give it a resemblance to ancient Russian churches, almost devoid of modernity.
