The Cherek Gorge is located on the left bank of the Cherek-Balkar River, about 200 meters above the abandoned village of Künlüml. Here stands a monument that represents a complex defensive structure with adjacent residential and protective extensions. The complex of buildings stretches from the northwest to the southeast. The main structure, the citadel, has the shape of an irregular quadrilateral with slightly rounded front corners. Inside the fortress, there are several water reservoirs lined with stones on lime mortar, as well as utility pits. To the southeast of the citadel, not touching it, there are more than a dozen residential buildings. These are the remnants of a small clan village located near the defensive fortress.
