The model of the ship 'Mercury' in Voronezh is one of the main attractions of the city. The author of the composition 'Frigate over the Sea' is V. Neberkutyn. The monument was located in the middle of the Voronezh reservoir, rising above the water. However, as project curator Sergey Shirobokov noted, the condition of the ship was so deplorable that restoration was impossible; it was almost completely destroyed by rust. It was decided to create a new model of the ship.

A team of specialists participated in the work on the new copy of the barcalon. The new 'Mercury' became more durable and reliable, made entirely of steel, which protects it from vandals.
