The Lutheran church in the Krasnodar region is unique in its kind. It is located at the intersection of Sofievskaya and Sudostalnaya streets. The church was built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries according to the design of the famous German architect von Desen and was opened in 1908. The initiator of the construction was General of Artillery Leonid Efremovich Adamovich, who also founded the famous cement plant "Society of Black Sea Cement Production."

During one of General Adamovich's visits to Novorossiysk, the city Duma approached him with a request to allocate a plot of land for the construction of a church and parish school. At a meeting with the city mayor P.K. Kalinin and O.R. Pentslin, in the presence of the residents of Balki, the issue was resolved positively.

Worship services in the church continued until 1929, when the Soviet authorities closed it and transferred the building to the "Proletarian" factory for use as a club for cement workers. During the Great Patriotic War, the church was partially destroyed, but the bell tower and spire remained until the 1950s, when they were removed due to the threat of collapse. In 1997, the building was returned to the Lutherans of Novorossiysk, and it was restored through the efforts of the parishioners. Today, regular worship services, charitable events, and organ music concerts are held here. The church is recognized as a monument of architecture and is protected by the state. The possibility of restoring the spire of the building is being considered.
