A Russian village in Armenia.

The village of Voskresenovka was founded in 1844 by Russian settlers, Molokans from the Morshansk district of Tambov province. Later, Molokans from Saratov province joined them.

In the Russian Empire, Molokans were considered adherents of "particularly harmful heresies" and faced persecution. However, the decrees of Emperor Alexander I, starting in 1805, granted some freedom to Molokans and Doukhobors. Molokans were confident in the existence of the imperial decree from July 22, 1805, which guaranteed freedom of religion for them and Doukhobors.
