The lecture hall is located in the building of the former Church of the Entrance of the Lord into Jerusalem, built in 1759, next to St. Sophia Cathedral, the Bell Tower of St. Sophia, and the Millennium of Russia Monument. It is currently used by the Novgorod Museum-Reserve for public events, lectures, conferences, concerts, and business meetings. The hall accommodates 180 people.

The museum's lecture hall in the Novgorod Kremlin is situated southeast of the bell tower of St. Sophia Cathedral. Originally, there was a stone church built by Archbishop Vasily Kalika in 1336, but it was dismantled in the early 18th century. The modern building was constructed in 1759 under Metropolitan Dimitry with funds donated by Empress Elizabeth. It is recognized by art historians as an example of Baroque architecture in Novgorod. In 1930, the building lost its distinctive features, including the dome.

Since the post-war period, the museum-reserve's lecture hall has been located here and continues to operate today. In the 1990s, a folk art studio was established in the lecture hall.
