This is one of the best local history museums in the region, located near a shopping center not far from the railway station. The museum was opened on May 9, 1995, in the house of entrepreneur Praskovya Martynovna Ketova. Although the museum is relatively young, its exhibition includes many interesting exhibits. In the yard, you can see artillery pieces and vehicles from the Great Patriotic War.

The museum has a lecture hall, a Russian izba, a merchant hall, a crafts and trades hall, a 'trading shop', a hall of military glory, and an evacuation hospital. Here, visitors can browse through a primer from the 1950s, try on a papakha and burka, hold a PPSh submachine gun, admire a collection of Kaslin castings, and look at photographs of the region's villages and settlements taken over the past 110 years. The museum hosts more than 40 exhibitions annually, dedicated to women's fashion, kitchenware, clothing, and printed materials from various times. The staff organizes events like 'dancing to the phonograph' on the town's day, 'museum in a suitcase' with visits to the hospital, 'wedding ceremony' for newlyweds, as well as theatrical tours with sound special effects. Schoolchildren studying local history are invited to the district Shcherbin readings in memory of the museum's founder, local history enthusiast Gennady Vasilyevich Shcherbinin. The museum is led by Galina Alexeyevna Ustinova, an expert on the history of the native land.
