The construction program for the V.E. Morozov Children's Hospital complex was developed by a medical commission that included the chief physician of St. Vladimir Hospital S. Vasilevsky, the chief physician of Sokolnicheskaya Hospital V. Shnaubert, and the chief physician of the planned Morozov Hospital N. Alekseev.

According to the project, architect I.A. Ivanov-Shitz designed several buildings and pavilions for the hospital ensemble, including the apartment building. This building was intended to provide residential accommodations for the medical staff of Morozov Hospital, as well as a number of utility services.

The building was erected in 1901 as part of the "first phase" of the hospital. The apartment building was located in the right row of hospital structures, with its side facades facing Mytnaya Street. This row also included departments for internal and surgical diseases, a typhoid department, and a kitchen. The apartment building, like most of the hospital's structures, was designed by I.A. Ivanov-Shitz in the Art Nouveau style. An old drawing with the architect's signature in the lower right corner has been preserved. The facade of the two-story building is asymmetrical, with a risalit of three windows on the left side. Even further left is an elegant porch with a metal canopy, adjacent to the angled corner of the building. On the right side of the facade is a small risalit that emphasizes the entrance to the building, topped with an attic featuring a grille of Art Nouveau design. The building was crowned with three striking chimneys, and the walls were left unplastered.

In 1975, the building was extended, distorting its original appearance and spatial composition. The chimneys disappeared, and a two-story annex was added to the west side, which does not match the building's style. The windows in this annex are horizontal, unlike the vertical windows of the old building. The angled corner on the opposite end of the facade has been preserved, as has the porch with the entrance door, but without the canopy. The original cornice of the second floor remains on the southern facade, now becoming an intermediate floor cornice.

Currently, the building houses a cardiology center and a clinic.
