The Blagoveshchenskaya Tower in Yoshkar-Ola, built in 2007, has become a symbol of the city and an important historical monument. Standing 55 meters tall, it adorns the square known as the Republic and Holy Virgin Mary Square, located in the center of the capital of Mari El. Despite its youth, the tower attracts the attention of both locals and tourists. The project was developed by specialists from 'Mariysgrazhdanproekt'.

The main feature of the tower is the clock, which resembles a smaller version of the chimes of the Spasskaya Tower of the Moscow Kremlin. The clock faces, with a diameter of 3.5 meters, are installed on each of the four sides of the tower. Eight speakers amplify the sound of the chimes, which can be heard in the central part of the city. The exact time on the clock is maintained using a satellite signal.

The tower is part of an architectural ensemble dedicated to the feast of the Virgin Mary. The Holy Virgin Mary Square unites several historical objects: the Blagoveshchenskaya Tower itself, a statue of Archangel Gabriel, the Annunciation Church, and a statue of the Virgin Mary.

In addition to its historical significance, the tower attracts tourists with the opportunity to take unique photographs against its backdrop.
