Peasant House in Ognetovo

Фото 1
If you are heading to Yaran, be sure to stop in Ognetovo to see a unique house.

The story of this house was told by a resident of Kirov, Elena Kustova.

The house was built in 1927 not by a wealthy merchant, but by a hardworking peasant, Semyon Lvovich Ateeva, who slept only three hours a day. The house was constructed with great care and love, with the help of his son Gavril and the men from Sheremetyevo.

According to Ateeva's granddaughter, the house's design was developed by the owner himself. The clay was brought in by themselves, from which they made raw bricks that were then dried and fired. The house features 18 types of decorative elements and 25 different patterns for the bricks. The colorful bricks give the house a festive and gingerbread-like appearance.

On the facade of the upper tier, you can see images of various faces, highlighting the importance of family to the owner. In the middle tier, angels are depicted, but unfortunately, they could not protect Semyon. In 1930, he was declared a kulak, and the family was evicted from the house.
