The parish was established in 2005 by the decree of Metropolitan German of Volgograd and Kamyshin.

The Church of Saint Luke was built in the new part of the city on Olomouc Street, on the site of a former wasteland. The construction of the church was funded by parishioners and benefactors.

Currently, work is underway on the interior finishing.

This winter, the first services will begin in the church. In the future, there are plans to build a social hotel where pregnant women in difficult life situations can receive assistance.
