The Menzelinsk Historical and Local History Museum was founded in 1991 and has been located on the second floor of the House of Creativity since 2008. The museum features seven halls.

In the nature and archaeology hall, visitors begin their acquaintance with the history of the region. Here, tools from the Stone, Bronze, and Iron Ages are displayed, along with paleontological finds, as well as bones of a mammoth, woolly rhinoceros, and large-horned bison. Visitors learn about the tribes that inhabited this territory and the founding of the city. There are also models of the Menzelinsk fortress from 1584 and the city of Menzelinsk from the 19th century, as well as an introduction to the region's nature, flora, and fauna.

The Menzelinsk fair hall tells about the famous fairs of the city, where merchants from all over the world gathered. Here, one can see what the central fair square looked like, learn about the conduct of fairs, and the range of goods.

The hall "Menzelinsk during the Great Patriotic War" is dedicated to local heroes. Here, visitors can learn about the contribution of the rear to victory, see authentic exhibits that accompanied their owners throughout the war and saved their lives.

In the hall dedicated to the main stages of the Great Patriotic War, interactive materials and films are presented, telling about the key events of this period.

The hall "Menzelinsk during the Years of Trials" discusses the life of the city before the 1917 revolution, the prisoners in the Menzelinsk prison, the Civil War, the Vilyui uprising and its artifacts, as well as the mass grave in Menzelinsk. The exhibition also covers the creation of collective farms and state farms and the process of dekulakization.

In the 19th-century merchant life hall, visitors immerse themselves in the atmosphere of that time, viewing the home of a prosperous merchant with furniture, dishes, and a typewriter from the "Underwood" company.

The ethnography hall showcases the interior of Tatar and Russian huts, allowing visitors to learn about the everyday life, traditions, and differences between Russian and Tatar life.
