Local History Museum of Uba District, Novosibirsk Region

The Local History Museum of Uba District began its activities on October 7, 1999, when the district museum was established under the Department of Education. It is located in an old building of a vocational school, which previously served as an extension to an eight-year school built in 1958 and survived a fire.

The only employee of the museum was the director Albina Ivanovna Vorozhko. Under her leadership, the museum developed and strengthened its position in the Uba District for ten years. The first exhibits, samovars, were donated by a resident of the village of Uba, Mikhail Petrovich Kuts, and took a place of honor in the collection.

On May 9, 2005, the museum opened its doors to visitors for the first time. Today, in an area of 235 square meters, there are seven exhibitions: "Russian Room", "Labor and Household Items of the Late 19th and Early 20th Century", "Fauna of Uba District", "Numismatics", "History of Photography", "Models of Orthodox Churches of Poltava V. A.", and "Military Glory". The museum has collected about 7,000 exhibits, among which the most extensive collections are numismatics, phaleristics, philately, documents, and photographs.

A special pride and decoration of the museum is the collection of handwoven linen towels, gathered from local residents. The museum in Uba District offers interesting exhibitions, vibrant displays from its own and regional funds, memorable meetings, and serves as a cultural center for people of all ages and generations.
