Local History Museum of the Sol-Iletsk District

In 1967, the first exhibits of the museum were placed in the building of the district Komsomol committee, marking the beginning of the creation of the modern museum of the Sol-Iletsk district. An important role in this was played by Nina Alexandrovna Krasovskaya, a teacher at school No. 2, who not only taught children history but also sought to preserve historical values for future generations.

Since its opening, the museum's exhibits have been moved multiple times. During the perestroika period, they were housed in the local library, and during this challenging time, Valentina Alexeyevna Smirnova not only managed the museum's treasures but also actively enriched the collection with new exhibits.

A significant event for the museum occurred on June 12, 2008, when it moved to a new modern building. This became possible thanks to the efforts of active residents of the region and the city, who showed interest in preserving the history and traditions of the area. Contributions were made by local residents who donated unique exhibits, patrons who provided financial support, as well as the administration and leading figures in culture, business, and the clergy of Sol-Iletsk. Today, this local history museum is a central place of cultural life in the city and district.
