After the completion of the Caucasian War, German colonists settled in Grozny. The Russian government, aiming to populate the region with loyal residents, provided them with this opportunity. The church project was created in Tbilisi, and its construction cost 4,500 rubles. The building was located near the Grozny fortress and hospital, and the priest's house, the chaplain of the Terek region, was situated nearby. The church was consecrated on November 22, 1864.

In the early 1930s, the authorities closed the church and transferred it to the republican archive. In February 1995, the building was destroyed during military actions.
