At the beginning of the last century, millions of Russian emigrants found themselves in different countries, where many of them managed to achieve success despite difficulties. Today we will talk about the American opera singer and actress Marina Alexandrovna Koshits, who was born in Moscow and was a Russian emigrant. She was born on August 6, 1912. Her mother, a Russian singer, moved to Paris with her daughter during the war years, and after the end of the Civil War, they went to the USA. Marina Alexandrovna received her first musical education at the Russian Conservatory in Paris and then continued her studies in America. Inheriting her mother's operatic voice, she proved to be very talented. Her career began by chance when she replaced her ill mother, Nina Pavlovna Koshits, on the radio and immediately gained recognition.

Marina Alexandrovna's career developed rapidly. After her first success, she quickly signed a contract with the radio and began acting in films. Initially, she bore the surname Shubert, but later took her mother's surname, and the world came to know two singers with the surname Koshits. By the beginning of World War II, she was already a well-known singer in America and had appeared in six popular films. In 1941, Marina Alexandrovna performed a role in the opera 'Eugene Onegin' for the first time, marking a new stage in her career. Her mother performed at the Bolshoi Theatre before the revolution, and the transition to opera became a pleasant turn for Marina, who then focused on this direction.

For many years, Marina Alexandrovna's successful career continued; she performed numerous operatic roles and acted in a dozen films. In her later years, she became passionate about painting and writing biographies of herself and her mother. The legendary American of Russian descent passed away in California on December 9, 2000, at the age of 88.
