The Kortkeros District Historical and Local Lore Museum was founded in 2004 and serves as a guardian of the historical traditions of the area. Its collection includes over 22,000 items that illustrate key stages in the formation and development of the Kortkeros District.

The museum invites residents and guests of the district to visit halls featuring three permanent exhibitions: "Komi Epic: Legends and Traditions of the Kortkeros District. The Legend of Kort-Aik," "Traditional Life of the Komi People: A Peasant's Hut from the Early 20th Century," and "Mr. Teacher: A Representative of the Komi Intelligentsia from the Early 20th Century."

Additionally, field trips are organized. Visitors can participate in workshops and lectures conducted by masters of applied arts.

The museum also offers printed materials and souvenirs created by local masters of Komi folk crafts.

The museum has a branch, the Literary Museum of V. A. Savin, located in the village of Nebdino in the Kortkeros District.
