On the border with the Kostroma region, in the Koverninsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, on a high bank of the Utrusy River amidst forests lies the Vysokovsky Assumption Monastery, founded in the early 19th century. Its numerous buildings, rising along the slope, form a picturesque ensemble that is clearly visible from afar. The monastery was constructed with stone churches and other structures almost simultaneously, creating a unified and cohesive architectural complex. The tiered arrangement of the buildings, balanced composition, and expressive silhouette continue the ancient traditions of creating ensembles of Russian monasteries. Above the fence, the gate church, kitchen, and cells, as well as the abbot's house, rise the majestic cathedral and a small church, while at the top of the hill soars the grand four-tiered bell tower.

The tall bell tower with three tiers of bells features a complex plastic solution. Its tiers, diminishing towards the top, are adorned with ordered compositions. On the first tier, paired Doric columns with arches between them transition on the second tier into two-columned porticoes with pediments. On the third tier, porticoes with two Doric columns decorate the corner edges of the octagon, while the fourth tier is adorned with Ionic columns.
