The Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God Cathedral is located in the village of Vyyezdnoye near Arzamas. This village previously belonged to the princely family of Bagration. The cathedral is considered one of the largest in the region and even functioned during the Soviet era, which allowed its interior decoration, created between 1803 and 1815, to be preserved in a unique form.

The architectural complex includes a snow-white five-domed cathedral, designed in the classical style, and a tall tent-shaped bell tower. The bell tower was built before the cathedral, in 1721, and there was a chapel on its site before.
