The construction of the new bell tower began in May 1812. This is confirmed by a document from the VSMZ archive from the same year, which states that in February 1812, the monastery was preparing materials for the construction of the Prepodobenskaya bell tower. The document says: "Purchased from peasant Grigory Ivanov and his companions from the village of Lopatnitsy in the Suzdal district 136 carts of wild stone at various prices, a total of 54 rubles 44 kopecks was paid." This data indicates that the construction of the bell tower began before the start of the Patriotic War of 1812, which refutes the legend of its erection as a vow of the townspeople for victory in the war.

The old tented Rizopolozhensky bell tower had battle clocks installed, for which the monastery paid the watchman 1 ruble a year in the 18th century. It is likely that the clocks were destroyed during the construction of the new bell tower. The tower and part of the wall were rebuilt in 1816 by Suzdal stone masons from the Nikolskaya sloboda, belonging to the Pokrovsky Monastery, Mikhail, Yegor, and Nikolai Ivanov Ponomarev.

The 72-meter Prepodobenskaya bell tower is designed in the classical style and is typical of its time, although it does not fit into the overall architectural style of the city. The tiers of the bell tower, decreasing upwards, rest on a powerful classical portal with an arch and are topped with a spire. The decoration features paired columns with decorative pediments.

The lower floor of the Rizopolozhensky bell tower includes an arch and holy gates. The facade is adorned with a portal with a pediment on paired columns in the Empire style. For stability, wings with rooms are attached to the sides of the lower floor. The second floor consists of three blind sections that narrow upwards, while the third tier is decorated with columns with pediments, just like the first floor. In the fourth tier, bells are suspended. Inside the bell tower, there is a blind staircase lined with boards.

The bell tower houses 12 bells. The largest weighs 289 poods 9 pounds and was cast in 1829. The second was likely cast in 1770 after a fire from melted copper with the addition of new material, its weight is unknown. The third weighs 82 poods 8 pounds, while the others are smaller. The Trinity bell tower has six bells, the largest of which weighs 69 poods and was cast in 1784, the second weighs 40 poods 22 pounds.
