The 17th-century bell tower is the most expressive structure of the monastery. It is characterized by monumentality and representativeness. The wide and low square base with three symmetrically placed windows on the front facade supports a massive octagonal pillar with broad pilasters at the corners and cornices. All its surfaces are adorned with square strips in the lower tier and ornate stepped niches in the second. In terms of the richness of its plastic decorative treatment, the bell tower resembles the decoration of the bell tower of the Resurrection Church in Suzdal, but without the bright polychromy. The wide proportions of the octagon harmonize with the treatment of the supports of the ringing arcade, featuring short and thick half-columns with large 'beads.' Above the ringing arches rises a majestic tent with protruding ribs, three tiers of sound windows, and a decorative dome made of shiny green tiles. The entire building, from its powerful proportions to its details, is imbued with a not-so-ascetic monastic mood; the lush plasticity and richness of decoration connect the Yuriev bell tower with the opulent merchant buildings of Murom from the 17th century and testify to the increasingly noticeable influence of 'worldly' popular tastes on ecclesiastical architecture.
