Bell Tower of the Intercession Church in Rylsk

Фото 1
In Rylsk, there was an Old Believer church built in 1737, known as the Intercession Church, later Blessed. It stood out among other churches with its numerous domes, round cupolas, and onion-shaped finishes. In 1910, construction began on a new brick Intercession Church nearby. The project for the stone Old Believer church was approved on March 4, 1909, and the bell tower project on April 28, 1910. By 1917, the church was completed, and services were held, although it remained not fully equipped. Father Trofim served as the priest. Archpriest Vokadorov wrote about it: "Throughout its existence, it served to glorify the city of Rylsk and its districts, uniting all directions of the local schism."

During the Soviet period, the multi-domed church was dismantled. Today, only the unfinished bell tower of the Old Believer church remains.
