The village of Ivanisovo is located 110 versts from the provincial city and 10 versts from the district center. According to the clerical books of 1628 and 1629, there was a wooden church in the village dedicated to Saint Demetrius of Thessalonica, but it remained "empty without singing." By 1653, a new church was built on the site of this church, consecrated in the name of the Protection of the Holy Virgin. In 1689, the church was rebuilt and reconsecrated in honor of the same feast. In 1770, Lieutenant Fyodor Maximovich Voeykov erected another wooden church in Ivanisovo, dedicated to the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God.

In the early 19th century, a stone temple began to be built instead of the two wooden churches. In 1810, a warm chapel was arranged, consecrated in honor of Saint Demetrius of Thessalonica, while the main church was constructed until 1820 and was consecrated in the name of the Protection of the Mother of God. At the same time, a stone bell tower was built. This temple, without significant changes in its exterior and interior decorations, has been preserved to this day. It contains two altars, consecrated in honor of the same feast.
