Sumoryevo is a village located in the Voznesensky district. In the 1930s, an uprising related to religious issues occurred here. According to the order of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod Region dated April 24, 2000, No. 5-OD, the complex of churches in Sumoryevo was recognized as a historical and cultural heritage site. This complex includes the Kazan Church, built in 1896, and the church and bell tower from the 19th century. However, according to the information from the State Heritage Protection Office of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Order No. 5-OD was revoked on October 20, 2014, by Order No. 159.
