Cemetery Chapel in Tetyushi

Фото 1
The first church in the Tetyushi settlement was built in 1654 and dedicated to the Kazan Mother of God, but it is unknown how long it lasted. The current stone church with three altars, also dedicated to the Kazan Mother of God and having chapels in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker and Archangel Michael, was built in 1801 by Avdotya Ivanovna Tatishcheva according to the design of the famous architect Rastrelli. The church was richly decorated thanks to Princess Elizabeth Rostislavna Vyazemskaya, who donated, among other things, a Gospel with silver-gilded covers worth 1000 rubles. A school at the church was opened in 1875.
