The work of Arkady Alexandrovich Plastov, a people's artist of the USSR and a full member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR, laureate of the Stalin, Lenin, and State Prize of the RSFSR named after I. E. Repin, is a source of pride for domestic realistic art. Throughout his life, he was closely connected with the Volga land, the Simbirsk and Ulyanovsk regions, as well as his native village of Prislonikha, where he found inspiration and strength. The history of the Plastov Heritage Center in Ulyanovsk began in 1986 with the opening of the art gallery named after him. However, during the difficult 1990s, the gallery ceased operations. Since 2008, by order of the Government of the Ulyanovsk region, the creation of the A. A. Plastov Museum as a branch of the Ulyanovsk Art Museum began at the site of the former gallery. The museum was opened in 2010.

The museum features more than 50 authentic works by the great artist, created from the 1920s to the early 1970s. Among them are well-known pieces such as "Village March," "Campfire in the Field," "March Morning," and "Rome. Appian Way." The exhibition also includes Plastov's personal belongings. His early drawings, antique photographs of fellow villagers, and household items from Prislonikha, donated by the village residents, hold special value.

The A. A. Plastov Museum actively conducts various events, organizes vernissages, and creative meetings. The new branch of the Ulyanovsk Art Museum has become a true center for preserving cultural memory, reflecting the life and work of the great artist.
