In 1980, in honor of the 110th anniversary of V. I. Lenin's birth, a museum dedicated to revolutionary, military, and labor glory was opened in the working settlement of Kargapolie. Since 2002, this institution has become a municipal cultural institution.
As of January 1, 2019, the museum has 10,961 items in its main collection and 5,695 units in its scientific auxiliary collection.
The museum includes five exhibition halls that tell the history of the settlement of the Kargapol region, the crafts and trades of its inhabitants, as well as the modern history of the district.
In 2010 and 2014, the museum was awarded diplomas as a laureate for winning the regional interdepartmental competition "Heritage," dedicated to the anniversary of Victory, in the nomination "Best Municipal Museum of the Kurgan Region." In 2017, the museum staff received a letter of gratitude from the Kurgan Regional Duma for significant achievements in the development of culture and strengthening educational traditions in the Kurgan region.
