Kalacheevsky Local History Museum

Фото 1
In 1985, the Kalacheevsky District opened a local history museum to commemorate the 40th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. The museum has four halls: archaeological, ethnographic (peasant room), hall of military glory, and a modern hall.

Here, exhibits tell the story of the cultures of the peoples who lived in this area thousands of years ago, as well as evidence of the formation and settlement of the village of Kalach. Unique items reflecting the peasant life and lifestyle of the 18th and 19th centuries are presented. One of the halls is dedicated to the heroic history of participants in the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War, as well as events in Afghanistan and Chechnya. In the modern hall, materials about the socio-cultural life of the district in the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century can be seen.

An open-air museum has also been created, where you can see a windmill with tools for cultivating land and grain, a well, a crane with a stone trough, a monument to the vanished hamlets, and other exhibits.
