In the "Historical Note" about the Astrakhan region, published in 1903, it is stated that as early as 1793, there was a church in the village of Vladimirovka, Astrakhan province, dedicated to the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God. It was located on the territory of the modern park in Vladimirovka and was known as the Baklanskaya Church.

The temple was tall and spacious, built of red brick. The floors were wooden and covered with thick, wide handwoven rugs. Inside, there were many different icons, many of which were ancient and adorned with rich coverings. Two priests and a deacon served in the church.

For a long time, the priest was Father Ioann, who faced persecution from the authorities in the post-revolutionary years. After his death, he was buried in the churchyard, but after the church was destroyed, his remains were transferred to the cemetery. The last rector of the church was Father Grigory, but his further fate is unknown.

In the 1930s, the church was demolished, and for some time, it housed the dispossessed before their deportation to remote regions.

Since February 2002, the construction of a new church in honor of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God has begun.
