Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Barish

Фото 1
The church was built in 1754 on land that belonged to a nobleman from the Simbirsk province named Kuroyedov. 3.5 hectares of arable land and meadows were allocated for its needs.

In 1800, the manufacturer Akchurin added a chapel dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

In 1927, the church was closed and partially destroyed: the bell tower and domes were demolished, and the vaults collapsed. Later, the building housed a food processing plant, shops, and a brewery.

In 1990, the building was returned to the Church, and services resumed. In 1991, repair and restoration work began: the domes and bell tower were restored, a Sunday school building was constructed, a House of Mercy, a water blessing chapel, and a complex of utility buildings, including an apartment for clergy, a prosphora bakery, a garage, and a boiler room.

In 1996, a chapel was erected in honor of the holy martyrs Faith, Hope, Love, and their mother Sophia.
