The Cathedral of St. Sergius of Radonezh is located in a picturesque spot on the slope of the Sosna River, on the grounds of the former Holy Assumption Men's Monastery, which existed here from 1664 to 1766. The temple complex includes two churches and a bell tower. The central church has two altars, consecrated in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Sergius of Radonezh.

The second church is dedicated to St. Seraphim of Sarov. The bell tower houses a chapel dedicated to the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God. Not far from the church, on the slope, there is a spring in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh and a baptismal font. Those wishing to bathe in the Holy Spring can obtain keys from the Cathedral's watchman. There are also two chapels associated with the church: the Ascension Chapel, located at the train station, and the Resurrection Chapel at the new Zalivensky cemetery. Every Thursday at 8:00 AM, a liturgy is held in the Ascension Chapel, and an akathist is read to St. John of Sochi, the patron saint of trade.

A spiritual school operates at the church, with classes held every Sunday. Additionally, there is a children's choir at the Sunday school, where children learn church singing.
