Boris Ivanovsky was a famous Russian race car driver of the first half of the 20th century and an officer of the Russian Empire's Guard. After the 1917 revolution, he emigrated to Paris, where in the 1920s he gained fame as a motorcycle and race car driver. Ivanovsky became the most well-known racer of Russian descent in the first half of the century, competing for the British team Alfa Romeo and achieving victories in major competitions.

From 1928 to 1930, Ivanovsky participated three times in the 24 Hours of Spa driving an Alfa Romeo, becoming a prizewinner each time. In 1929, he won the Irish Grand Prix, and in 1931, he competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he finished second in a Mercedes-Benz SSK, despite the withdrawal of the support crew. His second place at Le Mans, along with successes at Spa and winning the Northern Ireland Grand Prix in 1929, became some of the most significant achievements of his career. However, Boris's further fate remains unknown: a few years after participating in Le Mans, he disappeared in pre-war Europe.
