The museum was founded on October 25, 1977. This year it celebrates its 35th anniversary. Although this is a relatively short time for a museum, it has many reasons to be proud.

The museum was established by Zoya Ivanovna Chervyakova, born in 1917. She was a veteran of public education, a historian, and an excellent worker in public enlightenment. Thanks to her immense effort, enthusiasm, and love for her small homeland, the museum was created. Initially, its collection numbered about 300 items, but through the joint efforts of many people, it has grown to over 5,000 items.

The museum covers an area of 500 sq. m, of which 374 sq. m are occupied by exhibitions, and 62 sq. m are allocated for collections. The museum includes 12 halls.

Visitors to the museum can range in age from 5 to 90 years.

Exhibitions and displays are constantly updated.

Currently, the museum houses over 6,000 exhibits.
